Mischa Barton at the Bardot
March 18, 2009 by Cheril Vernon

Mischa Barton spent her Monday evening at the Bardot in West Hollywood, one of her favorite hangouts.
Mischa wears a white lacy top covered with gray and brown scarves around her shoulders, going nicely with her skinny jeans and boots. A cigarette drapes from her hand.
Mischa looks pretty happy in most of these photos too — I wonder if it’s the CW pilot The Beautiful Life she has signed up for — or if it’s something else.
Notice in this next picture her friend is wearing the black jacket Mischa likes to wear out a lot.

Mischa Barton to play bitchy model role on new show
March 14, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Mischa Barton told PEOPLE magazine she will be playing a “bitchy” model on The CW pilot A Beautiful Life produced by Ashton Kutcher.
“Ashton developed it about his life growing up as a model from Iowa, so it’s about the whole fashion world that he was in, and obviously I have a lot of friends in the fashion world, so I’m used to being around a lot of people in that,” Barton told PEOPLE at a a GQ magazine-hosted party Thursday to celebrate new men’s fragrance Burberry the Beat.
According to Mischa, she plays a “a bitchy model-type character, like it’s a totally different character for me.” Mischa also touched on how she uses her official website and Twitter account to debunk rumors.
OMG! Mischa Barton opts for ‘A Beautiful Life’ on The CW
March 12, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
I’m excited to report Mischa Barton has bypassed Melrose Place on The CW for another show coming soon to the network, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Mischa, 23, will play Sonya, a veteran supermodel who is determine to stay at the top on A Beautiful Life, which follows a group of young models living in a co-ed residence in New York City.
The one-hour drama pilot set in the world of high fashion is produced by Ashton-Kutcher.
Mischa is well suited for the role for many reasons with the No. 1 reason being she loves fashion and considers it an important part of her life. Being on the front row of Paris and New York fashion shows seem to be what she enjoys.
And she’s considered a fashion innovator, creating her own line of purses and headbands and having her own unique sense of style.
Mischa also has been featured in numerous magazines over the last few years in the United States and abroad. In February and March together, she’s featured in at least five magazines overseas. And these are big-name magazines too.
Barton also has modeled for companies in the past including Calvin Klein.
Mischa said in a recent interview that she considers herself a actress first and a model second — another reason why the role will be great for her.
It combines two of her loves — acting and modeling.
So, yes, I believe she will bring a lot to the role of Sonya, the model.
The CW still has to decide to pick up the show as it is still a pilot. So let’s hope the pilot rocks!
My worries? If it is picked up, I worry The CW may not promote A Beautiful Life as much as they will promote Melrose Place. Hopefully, they will though.
And maybe with The O.C. fans ready to see her return to the small screen, her star power will help shoot the show to the top.
I’m curious to learn more about A Beautiful Life and find out who else has been cast.
Congratulations Mischa!

Mischa Barton still on with The Kooks singer
February 11, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
Mischa Barton used her official blog Tuesday to clear up the rumors again about her love life.
Recent rumors alleged some kind of “love triangle” between Mischa, The Kooks singer Luke Pritchard and Tom Wright.
But Mischa says there’s never been a feud between the three — and Tom is a close friend who hangs out with a lot of the same people in London.
As for Luke, she says: “Luke is an amazing guy and we enjoy spending time together, but we’ve only been seeing each other for a few weeks and we’re taking it slow.”
“If I’m dating anyone, it’s Luke,” she says on her website.
“The Catcher in the Rye” among Mischa Barton’s favorite books
January 10, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
In a new blog post “Just a Few Book Suggestions” on her official website, Mischa Barton tells her fans about her love for reading and names some of her favorites as well as what she’s reading right now.
“One thing you might not know about me is I’m an avid reader — I’m obsessed with books,” Mischa says in the video.
Currently, Mischa says she is reading “Wonderland Avenue: Tales of Glamour and Excess,” the story of Danny Sugarland who ended up working with The Doors. She says the book is a great story of Los Angeles in the ’60s and ’70s — Mischa’s favorite era.
Along the same lines, Mischa says she enjoyed “Laurel Canyon: The Inside Story of Rock and Roll’s Legendary Neighbors” — a book from the same era about the people living in the neighborhood in Los Angeles she lives in — how cool the people were and the whole birth of its music scene.
Some of her favorite books include: “Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genious” and “What is the What,” both by David Eggers, “White Oleander” by Janet Fitch (the protaganist Astrid is one of her favorite book characters) as well as the classic “The Catcher in the Rye” by J.D. Salinger.
Mischa talks about her love life
January 6, 2009 by Cheril Vernon
In a new video posted on her official website, Mischa Barton talks about her love life — a little bit about her dating history and what she looks for in a guy.
Don’t get too excited because the video is short and she doesn’t name any names. But it does give us a little insight into how she views men and her past relationships.
In the video, Mischa says she’s been lucky enough to have three amazing relationships over the years, though it’s hard to find the right guy in Los Angeles or anywhere. She said that while many have pre-conceived notion of who she is, she looks for the right kind of person — someone who isn’t impressed with what she does for a living.
The best characteristics you can look for in a guy per Mischa:
- There for you
- Funny
- Smart
I love the headline she has on the video “You’ve Heard Plenty About My Love Life — Now Hear It From Me.” Hopefully, we will hear more from Mischa on her website. I really love the videos as it does let us see a different side of her and gives us a truer sense of who she is.

Mischa Barton Old Magazine Cover Bonanza! Giant cover August 2005
December 30, 2008 by Cheril Vernon

This is the last old magazine cover of Mischa Barton I have to share (at least for now) — her Giant magazine cover from August 2005.
I did find scans of the magazine spread that has several nice photos of Mischa. I like the inside magazine photos better than the cover.
The magazine spread did have an interview with it where we learn that Mischa loves cartoons (especially Sponge Bob and Care Bears), and at the time of the interview, she owned Care Bear pajamas and slippers!
She also talked about her role in The Sixth Sense and how fans often talk to her as her O.C. character Marissa.
In case you missed the other old magazine covers, here are the links:
