Jason Mewes has been added to the cast of Mischa Barton’s new movie The Science of Cool.

Screenwriter Eric Goren told Cinemablend that Mews will play one of the leads opposite of Barton, “playing the role of Coach Cambria, the obnoxious gym teacher who torments nerdy leads Neil and Gilbert.” Barton will play the leading female role of Jane, “a very plain and ordinary girl until she ends up as part of the science experiment that Neil and Gilbert concoct,” ala a little Weird Science.

Mewes has starred in Zack and Miri Make a Porno, Clerks, Mallrats and Chasing Amy.

Notice on The Science of Cool’s official MySpace page that they have a movie poster up.

The Science of Cool also will feature the following: Jeremy Sumpter, Masiela Lusha, Tamara Tunie (she also will direct), Carlucci Weyant, Kiely Williams, Jessie Cave and DJ Perry.
