Mischa Barton cast in The Science of Cool teen film

February 28, 2009 by Cheril Vernon

Mischa Barton has been cast in a new movie from Double Helix Entertainment called The Science of Cool.

Inspired by classic ’80s teen movies such as Weird Science, Sixteen Candle, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, etc., The Science of Cool is about two of the biggest geeks in school – Neil Tobbler and his best friend Gilbert Stevens.

They love science, get good grades, are socially inept and can’t seem to meet anyone (especially girls!). But their lives change when they discover a formula which can transform nerbs into studs.

Sounds like Weird Science to me.

Jeremy Sumpter (Friday Night Lights) will play Neil. Mischa plays a character named Jane.

Others cast include Wii Wheaton (rumored), Masiela Lusha, Jessie Cave, DJ Perry, among others.

Tamra Tuni from NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victim Unit has signed on to direct the movie.
