Assassination of a High School President - Why Only a Limited Release?
With the announcement that Assassination of a High School President would be coming out on September 12th, I decided to revisit some reviews of this film. It received nothing but very high praise at its premieres, and I was curious why it was been given only a limited release to theaters (or, so early information indicates).
The film has 60% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is actually quite high if you look at the movies that are "blockbusters" this week. More people call it clever than otherwise, so why do you think it’s not getting a full release?

In Assassination of a High School President, Mischa Barton plays the part of senior hottie Francesca Facchini. She solicits the help of the St. Donovan’s High newspaper reporter Bobby Funke (Reece Thompson) to find a set of stolen SATs, which implicates the school president. This wins him the respect of the entire school and its principal Kirkpatrick (Bruce Willis), and Franscesca takes him to homecoming. However, Funke begins to think he’s a pawn in a conspiracy theory and unearths a sordid secret at St. Donovan’s that involves more people than he could have expected… and could crack him.

I could be because none of her movies have made that much money, so nobody expects this to do any better than her previous films.

Many independently produced movies start off as a limited release and open in only a few cinemas and cities. How much it earns in its opening weeks will determine if they’ll add to the number of theatres and if it will play in more cities.

I think this going to be a great movie… wish micha best luck!!! i think mischa is amazing actress…. I wish more people could give her a chacne… she well make great things happen… she made the OC…. so am sure she can make movies come out great like she did the OC… oc wasn’t that great when she wasn’t in it! I hate the 4th season… I love 1st, 2nd, & 3rd season….
