Mischa Barton Interview with Sydney Morning Herald
The Sydney Morning Herald has a brief interview up with Mischa Barton as well. The interview was done while Mischa Barton was at the Sundance Film Festival.
In the interview, Mischa talks about how she had a skiing accident when she was about 17. They had to carry her down from the mountain in a stretcher - hurting her pride a lot more than she was actually hurt. And, although her pride again hurt for the DUI arrest and ensuing media frenzy, Mischa tries to remove herself from the outer judgment and the damage it can do to you.
"I don’t know what all the fuss is about honestly," she says rolling her eyes. "Because when I’m in New York nobody follows me around, the paparazzi never get pictures of me. I live a completely normal life. I go to Los Angeles [or Sundance] for one day and there’ll be like 80 shots and people stalking me."
Mischa has always been a responsible girl - a big sister to her friends and a mom to her little sister. So, going through hard times herself is not as easy to manage:
"So I don’t look at myself a lot or what I’m going through. So when I start going through things I’ll reflect it off. I don’t like to deal with stuff for me. I’m better at dealing with stuff for other people. That’s what I’m use to."
It sounds like the interview is getting really good here, but the publicist decides to step in and move the conversation on to the topic of Mischa’s movies. Mischa talks about her nude role in Closing the Ring and how it wasn’t a big deal. It was something she talked over with her whole family first. And the people on set made it seem easy to do.
"I don’t mind nudity as long as it’s necessary to the story. I mean it’s a bit weird because you’re like naked in a room full of strangers, but we started telling really sick jokes which helped,"
When asked if Mischa would ever start her own fashion line, she says she’s thought about it. Mischa says she gets approached to do it all the time, but being picky, Mischa thinks it would take forever to finish anything. She admires stars like Gwen Stefani who can insert their personality into their clothing lines.
On producing film, which Mischa just did for Homecoming, she says:
"First. I love it. t’s the only thing that brings my true personality out and makes me feel comfortable."
Sounds like we’ll see more of Mischa behind the camera, as well as in front of it!

Does this mannequin EVER have anything INTERESTING to say? She should keep her mouth shut & just be pretty rather than pretty boring!
