Mischa Barton gives a very candid look into her life to OK! Magazine Australia. In an interview and photoshoot taken in Mischa’s LA home (her $3 million mansion!), Mischa talks about her "stupid mistake" - the DUI that garnered her so much press. It’s a great look at Mischa, and an inside look at how Mischa Barton’s famous style translates into her home!

Some transcribed excerpts from Mischa Barton’s interview:

"When I arrived in LA I looked at 10 houses. This was the last one on the list. It was a little beyond my price expectations, but I immediately fell in love with it…

It’s almost as if I would be living in the country. There’s no traffic, no loud cars, simply heavenly quiet."

Mischa says she her favorite places are her pool house and garden. Mischa says she likes her house in LA, but feels more "home" emotional ties to New York and London. She likes the idea of coming to LA and to returning to that peacful, relaxing feeling of her LA home.

Mischa talks about how close she is with her family, though smiles saying she’s not yet ready to create her own family (knowing the rumors about Brett Simon, the director of Assassination of a High School President).

Mischa owns up to her mistake and the resulting DUI. She says the industry has changed a lot in the last 5 years, making it very difficult for your stars to ‘fly under the radar.’ Mischa says she’s going to take off some time now - to balance out all the hard work she’s done recently for her films.

Mischa Barton says she grew up quickly - had snuck into clubs by the time she was 18, and got over that. At such an early age, Mischa Barton admits she’s not one for planning the next move. She wants to live life "day by day."

"I am very grateful for what I already have, but I do still want to grow as a human being, as an actress. That’s certainly one of my big goals in life."

When it comes to fashion, Mischa says:

"Fashion and style is an extension of your own personality. I went through all the phases. I was a punk rocker [and] into hip-hop. I always felt very embraced by fashion designers. It’s great to get the clothes fro mthe designers directly. And designers are artists as well.

I am very mood driven when it comes to my style - I love mixing vintage and designer pieces. Sometimes when I wake up I feel very much into retro style. Then again, it depends on where I am. My style in New York is different than here in Los Angeles."

Mischa says that the paparazzi are getting worse, but that some people in young Hollywood are encouraging that attention and trend. There are days when Mischa doesn’t mind the paparazzi, but others when she doesn’t want her life invaded.
