Mischa interviewed about ‘Walled In’

Mischa Barton recently wrapped up filming ‘Walled In’ in Regina and the Regina Leader Post published an interview they did with Mischa during her stay. Mischa loved it in Regina, where the weather was already at -25 degrees and there was snow on the ground. And Mischa has taken the opportunity to be a tourist around this part of Canada - of course, there’s not much time with her busy schedule!
"I have taken a couple of drives out and made it out as far as Moose Jaw and places like that," Barton said of her activities while in the Queen City.
"I really haven’t had much time off, only on the weekends and that’s really when I tried to relax, so things like getting massages and going to the spa have been about as adventurous as I get. It’s been a heavy filming schedule for me."
This is the first film where Mischa Barton has a leading role. A big ‘up’ for Mischa. She plays Sam, a demolition expert overseeing the destruction of a building - one haunted with souls of people buried in the walls by the architect. Mischa Barton was drawn in by the well-written and intense script - she loves the depth of it.
"She’s intense and tiring," Barton said. "She was in my head. It really felt like I lived her because I’m almost in every scene. So it’s really been my film and I’ve had to live it and experience it."
Mischa Barton got into her role - completely. She chose to perform all her own stunts including rigging, jumping and climbing.
"You name it, I’ve been training," Barton said with a laugh. "(Sam’s) really quite wiry and intense. She burns off a lot of energy, she’s quite a nervous person, she’s always dealing with something."
In talking about her future, Mischa Barton had this to say:
"I think really that for me right now the best thing, the thing that would make me the most happy is to work with people where I get to push myself and experience new things," she said.
"I want to be making good films. It’s my passion."
