Mischa Barton at Modest Mouse concert
Mischa Barton went to the Modest Mouse concert, as promised. No word on if Cameron Bryght was also there, but we do have a fan account from the local paper:
Who knew Regina would be such a hotbed for star sightings? Just last year Oscar winner Charlize Theron was filming a movie here, and now another recognizable Hollywood celeb has been spotted around town. O.C. alum Mischa Barton, who is here filming Walled In. Last week Modest Mouse played a show at the Conexus Arts Centre and just before the band took the stage I made a trip to the ladies room. As I was washing my hands, I took a glance to my left and saw a girl fixing her makeup in the mirror. The glance turned into a double take as I realized it was Ms. Barton.
I immediately tried to think of something clever to say to her so I would be able to tell the tale and was about to ask if she had ever "seen these guys play before." Luckily for me the people she was with walked up and started talking. Afterwards it was pointed out to me that Modest Mouse had appeared on The O.C. Duh.
But that wasn’t the end of star sightings for the evening. Thanks to another local "celebrity," my good friend Joel Bancescue who is recovering from a broken neck, we got the VIP treatment. The concert was packed, and because Joel is in a wheelchair, it was difficult for him to see. Thanks to a nice guy, security at the event let us go back to the VIP area beside the stage and watch the show from there — along with Mischa Barton and others. While I didn’t talk to her at the concert, she was at one of my favourite spots on the weekend, O’Hanlons, where I asked to get a picture taken with her and she graciously said yes.
I sure would like to see that picture Missy!
