Josh Schwartz Interview
E! Online’s Kristin recently sat down with Josh Schwartz (the man behind The OC) to talk about his two new shows - Gossip Girl and Chuck.
Well, Kristin lets Josh know that he has some burning fan questions. While she’s getting ready, he peeps up with:
"Why’d you kill Marissa?"
To which Kristin replied "There was some of that, actually".
They don’t talk about it after that, but it’s evident that the decision to kill off Mischa Barton’s character weighs heavily on him. Or at least that it bugs him.

Such unnessicary sarcasm from Josh! Hopefully he realizes the stupid choice he made when deciding to kill her off the show. Obviously he’s been asked why a billion times.

she was just annoyed that rating were declining. She never actually said she wanted to leave the show - or hand in her notice. But with her annoyance over ratings, and the fact she didn’t have much control over her character, Josh decided it would be okay - stupidly - to kill her of.
