Mischa wants a mature guy
Mischa Barton says that she is happy to be single and that, when she dates again, she wants a more mature guy.
Mischa Barton is single – "For the first time in my life!" she says – and not looking.
But if she were looking, she tells British Elle in its August issue, "I’d like someone who makes me laugh. I like an intellectual guy, because I love to read. If they like movies, books and music, we’re pretty alright.
"And I’d like someone who’s mature; God, I can’t take another immature person!’
Barton, 21, won’t name names, but she’s had her share of high-profile relationships. She and rocker Cisco Adler split in February, shortly after a nude photo of him surfaced among Paris Hilton’s belongings.
Before that, the O.C. actress dated oil heir Brandon Davis. They broke up in 2005 after more than a year together; Davis was later caught on tape making vulgar remarks about Lindsay Lohan.
Although Barton knows both Hilton and Lohan, she says she’s not a part of their crowd. "The media has created a fake ‘Young Hollywood’ where everyone hangs out together and everybody knows each other," she tells Elle. "It couldn’t be further from the truth. I feel so, so different from those girls."
She admits that she got caught up with the wrong scene when she first arrived in Hollywood as a teen: "When I got there I didn’t know anything about the business, and you don’t make the best of friends. You make a few mistakes when you’re that age and it took me a while to find the friends I needed, to be truly comfortable."
She’d prefer to hang out with her family, who live in her home in Beverly Hills (they live in the main house, while she lives in the poolhouse, like her O.C. character’s love interest, Ryan), and her dogs Ziggy and Charlie, a rescued spaniel beagle mix.
And although she works out when she travels, she insists she never diets. "I had waffles this morning!" she says. "We’ve always been thin in our family – I’m lucky." For exercise, she walks her dogs every morning. "There are some things I like about L.A. You can have a really healthy lifestyle, and I love running with the dogs on the beach. It’s just the social scene is horrific!"

I believe Mischa’s decision to not date anyone right now and when she does date only mature guys may be the best decision in her life because it shows how mature she is and how important her relationships are to her and that just makes me soooooooo much more attracted to her than before which I thought was impossible due to how incredibly gorgeous she is and how her face describes how the world should look like. She truly is a gift from God!
