Mischa Barton in “The Sophomore”

Mischa Barton has been cast in a new movie called "The Sophomore". This is a big Hollywood film co-starring Bruce Willis, Rumer Willis and Billy Bob Thornton.
"The Sophomore" originally was titled "Assassination of a High School President." "The Sophomore" is a dark comedy where Mischa Barton’s character is a popular girl in a Catholic high school who teams up with a sophomore newspaper reporter to investigate the theft of SAT exams. Once they target their suspects (the president and top jock), a "larger conspiracy" comes to light.
Rumer plays Mischa’s troublemaking friend. Bruce Willis is the school principal - a twisted Desert Storm veteran.
Mischa Barton is to spend 2 months in Russia to film her t.A.T.u movie, then will return immediately to begin shooting "The Sophomore."

Mmm..let’s wait a bit to see if it’s really a “big” movie or not. I’m pretty sure that this is an indie film by Yari Group, but hopefully it’ll get a lot of media attention regardless.

Less high school, more mature movies, I say. Sounds like she’s being typecast. The last three movies she’s been announced as being in just sound like she’s playing Marissa all over again. She’s worth more than that.

Hey, I worked on this movie, filming out in New Jersey. I actually sat in front of Mischa in a Spanish Class scene. Bruce’s daughter pulled out of the project, but he stayed on - he’s prob the biggest name in it. It’s going to be hilarious, with a great cameo by Michael Rappaport as the basketball coach. Not a huge blockbuster, but could be a great cult-following hit along the lines of Mean Girls.
