Mischa Barton has a new movie project, for a film called "Jumper"

After telling reporters on Thursday she was having the "time of her life" frolicking with models and splurging on clothes during her stay in Sydney, Mischa Barton accidentally said too much about her next project. "Unfortunately I have head back to the US soon to screentest for Jumper," she blurted before exclaiming "Oops!" and covering her mouth. New Idea can exclusively reveal that Fox execs are keen to sign Mischa onto the role of Millie straightaway, before filming on Doug Liman’s sci-fi thriller is scheduled to begin early next month. "She’s perfect - well-known, charismatic and gorgeous," a studio insider tells us. "It’s being kept hush-hush as the actress she’s replacing [Aussie starlet Teresa Palmer] is none too pleased about the situation."

Our newest movie star, Teresa Palmer, has recieved some bad news. The Herald Sun reported on Monday that Teresa’s role in Doug Liman’s upcoming blockbuster "Jumper" is in jeopardy due to Fox wanting a "more famous" star. Meanwhile, New Idea exlusively revealed this week that Mischa Barton is screen testing for the part and photos published in an American tabloid overnight showing Liman and Barton having lunch together don’t exactly fill us with optimism. Teresa’s publicist was unavailable for comment. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for her and hope it’s just a nasty rumour - watch this space."
Jumper is slated to star Hayden Christensen, Samuel L. Jackson, and many others, so Mischa Barton would be a great addition to the cast. Here is the plot outline:
A teenager from an abusive household discovers he can teleport from one place to another. He uses this ability to search for the man he believes is responsible for the death of his mother, drawing the attention of the NSA, and another kid with the same power.
