Will Mischa return to the OC?
Will Mischa Barton return to the OC? That is the biggest thing on the table right now. And, if she does return, will it be as a full-time actress, or only as a silly side role?
One source says that yes, Mischa will return, but that it’s kind of half-assed:
a source close to the show says Mischa will nevertheless return next season — as a ghost! "Right now she’s scheduled to come back in flashbacks and in ghost-type things," a show insider says.
Mischa, who reportedly wanted to quit The O.C. to concentrate on her film career, seems to like the ghostly compromise. "She’s been as sweet as pie to the producers since she read the script," the insider says.

I think that the OC dosn´t exist whitout marissa. Definitly she has to return to the show, and not like a ghost.
I think the same of Katy, im not interested in kaitlin life.
The oc is the story of zeth, ryan, summer, and marissa and the director can´t change the course of the story and start retelling the life of kaitlin in harvard.
Pleaseee, mischa you have to return to the show!!! You are THE start. The oc is nothing without youuu.

Well, I’ve heard that Marissa maybe will or won’t come back.
I read that Mischa got fed up of acting Marissa and there is nothing more to happen with her.
You know, Marissa has got everything ´bad` , like drinks, bad boys, anorexi and many other polemic things.
But in the other hand, I’ve heard that Marissa could return in a kind of ´coma´ or ghost.
I also heard that Katy would be the principal charecter with more 3 friends, replacing summer, seth and ryan, but I think that this isn’t true.
Let’s hope that Marissa come back right?
Because there is no The O.C without her.

i think she will come back. All those interviews they had, i think they are paid to say that cuz Josh only wants ppl talkin about the oc again and so the ratings go up. If she dies the ratings obvisiouly are gonna go down. Plus i have two 4.01 scripts, one she lives and ryan proposes to her and the other script she dies. I think both are fake they have spelling errors in it. But its 50/50 chance she will live. thats what i think.
In the script her heart stops for 10 mins ryans calls the paramedics and she was in a coma for 2 montsh and ryan asks her 2 maryy him in the hospital. I hope that one is true.
I am a huge fan of the oc, and i know josh would not do that. plus i hear they are baggin her to come back.

Well Josh here it is….June already and guess what? The fans are not lying low on this one, the petition to have Marissa come back to The OC is moving up in numbers everyday. The majority of fans are begging, some nicely, some not so nicely, but the bottom line is they want Marissa back! And although, petitioning and begging may not work at least you and Fox. tv know by now surely that the fans want Ryan and Marissa to both be on the show. If that cannot happen, well there will be countless upset fans but at least they tried…you have to give us credit for trying!

the OC reflects on the fab four i always see seth summer ryan and marissa as me and my 3 bestfriends to see marissa killed off the show hurts me just to think the show will not be as good with out her. i can see if mischa has been wanting new contracts or something with not doing to oc anymore but it would just be fine for her to be a part time actress but not to be killed off.

i totally agree with tori. Mischa says shes tired off the oc so she wants to do movie careers but she will be setting a bad example, showin up late and ppl will think she is a lazy actress. Welll… We all knew it was coming.. As soon as they only had 3 years in Highschool.. instead of 4… Funny how that works.. We all knew once they went their “SEPERATE WAYS” which the show has been setting up the entire 4th season for.. We should have known they were going to kill off one of the FAB 4… Since they are all growing up and supposedly SEPERATING.. they had to do something.. and with Katy dear back in town, you all had atleast a hunch that they would have her take over, something to fall back on.. Simple politics and BULLSHIT if you ask me… Sad to say.. FOX is notorious for ruining shows.. First they take off TRU CALLING, then they get rid of North Shore and that other spooky show they had one with the devil girl, and now this.. Why is anyone surprised..

Well, I think that some of you are going a bit too far here. If Misha does want to do other work in the film industry then we can’t really stop her. The OC won’t be as good obviously but after 3 seasons of it, I can expect that it may be getting a bit repetitive. The OC is a great show and I can’t wait for the 4th Season. If Marissa decides to stay then thats great, but if not then thats her choice. You’re not going to persuade anyone from Fox even if they read your comments by saying “I hate u Josh Let Marissa live” are you. I think they will have had enough comments by now and they should understand the popularity would decrease without Marissa in the show.
Let’s just hope that they are doing it for publicity. Season 4 starts in the USA on November 2nd but here in England i’ll have to wait a few more months.

I really don’t see why they’ve killed Marrissa off - her dad’s sailing thing was the perfect opportunity for her to go out of the show for a while and focus on her film career, but still come back when she wants to. I think it’ll kill the fanbase a little - Summer, Seth, Marrissa and Ryan were the key characters that kept me tuning in every week, without them, I’m unsure where the show’ll be. *sigh*. Guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Hey guys read this:
She actually does not die, and she wakes up from the Coma, the third from last episode of the 4th season. And she stars as a regular again in season 5, which is the last season of The O.C. Sorry Guys, I know it totally sucks. The reason this was, is becasue Mischa didn’t want to be trayed as the teenager that she plays on The O.C., she does not think it will lead to to future roles. Becasue of that desicion, was why they were going to kill her off season 3, which is now why they are going to wake her up from a coma near the end of season 4. Becasue she realizes that The O.C., could not be a better place for her to start a major acting career at. Then when season five roles around, she will play Marrissa Cooper for the last season of the O.C.

you know i think that the fourth season will start out with sirens of an ambulence just how third season started except a little different.. and im hoping that mischa will eaither be in a coma or just unconcience for about an hour in the hospital than wake up.. millions of people will be screming and so happy if that happens.. and i hope it does because i have a daughter who loves that show very much.. that show is her idol and she looks up to not only those characters but those actors and actresees.. she very much loves mischa on that show and she is cuurently at childrens hospital of orange county dying of lucemia… she is 13 years of age and watches that show religiously, when she saw marissa die.. her heart was broken and she cried!!.. my little girl doesnt have much time left on earth.. she is my angel.. my heart.. and my best friend.. i sat outside her hospital room door and listened to her prayers.. she didn t pray to become well she prayed for her family and friends and for war to end but she also prayed that mischa barton returns on the OC season 4 alive.. i want my liitle girl to make it until that day of the season premeire and i want her prayer to come true so please fox warner bros josh someone help my little girls prayer come true

Guys, I’ve heard the official word as released in a press statement by FOX: Marissa’s coming back!!! Mischa Barton didn’t want to be labeled the OC girl, but her character was too popular so they worked around it. She wakes up and has amnesia and thinks she is a boy named Garth so they sedate her and perform a sex change on her to make her into a boy before she sees a mirror and discovers the truth, which could possibly give her a heart attack. Ben Savage, who played Corey on Boy Meets World, will play Marissa… AKA Garth and he will work hard and eventually get a cross country scholarship to Texas A&M where “he” will discover his life’s love of selling patio furniture. He will migrate back to southern Cal looking for “something” that he knows he needs. Ryan has apparently picked up a bad habit of masterbating in public and has been detained on several separate occasions, until one fateful night where he was getting himself off in the ball pit of a Chuck E. Cheese and he locked eyes with Garth. The two’s undeniable chemistry was immediately rekindled and the two move in together at Sandy’s insistence. They won’t reveal too much so don’t be hearing wedding bells just yet, but it seems as though it’s a real and definite possibility. Anyway, just wanted to put all the rumors to rest and get the story straightened out, it should be a crazy season… and I think things are just heating up!

Marissa does die but only for a short time. She is rushed to the hospital where they revive her and everything is back to normal again. She does end up with Ryan again but its kinda rocky and Marissas younger sister becomes the next biggest thing.

to kill marissa off was incredibly stupid. i feel that these three seasons ive wasted my time watching them if all that really happens is marissa dying. i even became completely obsessed.i bought the seasons and i would watch them over and over in my spare time, now how can i enjoy them knowing my favorite character is dead? all of my friends and i agree that the time we love the most about the show is when they show marissa. or marissa and ryan together. so why even go on in the show? that might as well been the last episode because obviously tons of people are going to stop watching it and ratings are going to have some serious issues with staying up. all it takes is marissa cooper back on the show. bring marissa back.

the clip is a series of flashbacks throughout the second and third seasons, like when she shot trey and the car crash, and at the end its like she wakes up as if she was dreaming all of it.

this pisses me off. marissa is such a big part of the OC. and just because she wants to move on, doesnt mean she should die. she should have like moved away or something and appear every once in a while. then if she realizes how much she misses it after awhile she could come back so easily. dying was a stupid way to take her off the show. the OC is not the same without her. this was a stupid move. plus no one cares about her sister. theres been like a million episodes so far and everyone of them is about the four MAIN characters. marissa, ryan, seth and summer, and no one got tired of them. theres no need in changing it. i hate this.

Hia people… Im just wondering why are all you still yet crying and that marissa will come back to the show becasue she isnt the full season 4 is nearly all out and she isnt in she died. I dont think Mischa is going to come back because she says she wants to do bigger things. But i thought the O.C. was pretty big. She probably wont read this, so i wont be able to change her mind, but The O.C. is nothing without Marissa (or Mischa). Even if she does read this she probably wont care about what one fan thinks. Personally i wish that Mischa would come back to the O.C. The O.C. is supposed to be about Marissa Seth Ryan and Summer. But now its just about how terrible everyones life is without her. Mischa, if you do read this, everyone would love you even more than we already do if you come back!!
