Mischa Barton to leave the OC?
Apparently Mischa is getting a bit tired of her role on The OC. She is often late for work, or skips it being “sick”. Gossip has it as dissatisfaction with the show ratings and her perception as a bratty teen on the show.
The publication quotes insiders who work on the show as being annoyed by Barton’s sickouts and tardiness - especially since she’s been known to hit the town and party hearty (and is the frequent subject of gossip-column items).
“She’s definitely flirting with leaving the show,” says one source. “But the real problem now is that she isn’t taking work seriously.”…
“We don’t comment on rumor or speculation,” said a spokeswoman for Warner Bros., which produces “The O.C.” - New York Post
Who knows if the rumours are true, but we’d miss her!

This is garbage. The show will cease to exist without Marissa. Even as people say they hate Marissa they dont understand what an impact this will have on the show. What will Ryan do knowing his ex love is dead. What about Julie thinking she failed as a parent after everything they went through, and Summer whats she gonna do without her best friend? I’m pretty sure shes gonna replace Marissa with Taylor its all obvious. All I know and a bunch of my friends, is that this is the downward spiral starting now. Marissa gone breaks the group up, and the next season I hear they are bringing Kaitlyn back to Newport and having her go to Harbor and starting all over there. Speaking as someone who has watched the show from day one, these sound like horrible ideas and go ahead and do whatever the hell u want bc with Marissa gone ull be lucky to make it half a season.

Hmm surely Marissa dying gives everyone PLENTY to do! Summer trying to get used to life without her best friend - everyone being seperated when they need eachother most, Ryan griefing and possibly going wild or trying to replace her, Julie becoming over protective of Kaitlin to not repeat the same mistake thus driving Kaitlin away.
Killing her off opens endless story possibility.

Thank you chicagofan, If they did cut of Micha Barton, Nobody would really wantch the show anymore, she’s one of the main people on the oc, I don’t think that she will be cut off, and if she did, they would half to cut off all of the cast, because the two main C’s are Misha Barton and Benjamin McKenzie, then it’s Adem Broody, and Rachel Bilson. So, I don’t think that they will cut her off, and if they do, I won’t be watching the show anymore, and I don’t think other people will either, the’ll lose intress! But I really hope that they don’t cut her off, because I really love this show, and she’s one of my favorit C’s…….

Yep..I had a feeling this was going to happen!! The people that makes the show were out of their minds of getting rid of Marissa because like i said, if any of the main cast leaves, i wont be watching. So you know what “show makers”, you will be losing a bunch of people cuz they wont be watching your show anymore…Bad mistake and good luck of keeping this show on air cuz people wont want to watch it anymore….What happened to Marissa was bulls**t and thats for sure. This is all a big joke. Im very dissapointed.

I read something that said the reason why Mischa left the show because she was always calling in sick and skipping the practice so if she didnt want to be on the show anymore then have her replaced with someone else, but dont have her die thats the stupidest thing i have ever watched..i seen voted and there are only like 3 out of 25 people that will continue on watching the show, why should people watch it now? She is one of the main actresses so i mean, that was a super BAD idea to have her die..thats it for me, im not watching it anymore….EITHER YOU GUYS BRING HER BACK OR NOBODY WILL BE WATCHING IT!!!!!!!!!

This is terrible! Misha Barton is the one who keeps the O.C alive! I believe Misha Barton is one of the worlds best actress. The O.C is my favoruite T.V show but I am not sure if it will be anymore :(. other people are saying Misha is leaving becuase people are judging her and calling her to much like her role on the O.C. I think how Misha bartion had to play the part where her Mother was poor and she had to go to a Public School bad. I think the Johnny issue went on way to long. This is stupid. Well, I think that some of you are going a bit too far here. If Misha does want to do other work in the film industry then we can’t really stop her. The OC won’t be as good obviously but after 3 seasons of it, I can expect that it may be getting a bit repetitive. The OC is a great show and I can’t wait for the 4th Season. If Marissa decides to stay then thats great, but if not then thats her choice. You’re not going to persuade anyone from Fox even if they read your comments by saying “I hate u Josh Let Marissa live” are you. I think they will have had enough comments by now and they should understand the popularity would decrease without Marissa in the show. However, Misha does fit the role of Marissa very well and it would be a shame to lose her.
Let’s just hope that they are doing it for publicity. Season 4 starts in the USA on November 2nd but here in England i’ll have to wait a few more months.

I have some good news and some bad news.
The good news I just heard in a magazine that mischa might be coming back, she told sources that the 3 movies she is doing shot in the summer and so she will have time to shot season 4.
The bad news is season 4 is gonna be the last season of the oc and they are only planning on doing 16 eps.
They should go up to season 6-8 the show is really popular and they have a chance to make it even more popular/ mischa dont leave ur the ebst in the oc and it wouldnt be the same without u.

I watched final episode last night and am gutted!!! If the ratings werent falling already then they wil be now Mischa made that show. I for one wont watch it if there isnt a magic return of her next season. Josh Schwartz should be very ashamed! Oh and it might be a good idea to start saving Josh you wont have an income any more!!!!

i cryed and cryed when she died..the o.c is what i looked up to on thursdays. after school id pop popcorn and get ready to watch it,this season it wont be the same ryan and merissa were soul mates they were sopost to go to collage together and date agian and be together like in high school…the 4 of the friends would hang out agian ..after she got back from her dads. we all no why katelin came down to replace merissa on the show that will never happen nobody can replace the best actor on the show! all i no is ryan better not go to jail on the next season for her death and i might watch the next season note to everybody she didnt play a bratty teen she played a real life person.

I know that you’ve been let down by Mischa Barton leaving the show because she lacks on coming on time for work and is using her “sick” passes, but we obviously don’t mean that much to her. We are the people who keep her ratings up on the Fox network, and we the people wish Marrissa wasn’t in that car, but she was! I don’t know Maybe she doing this for the greater good of her career. I Say Good Riddens to her, she has been a pain in the butt for a long time. I mean look at all of the stoopid things she has done, she almost died in mexico, she has a lezbo affair, she hangs out with some guy, who is obsessed with her two different times, she never listens whenever ryan or anyone tells her things. She is bull headed and doesnt deserve ryan at all. I know they are good together, but look at how many times she has by herself messed that up. Due mostly to her stupidty.

Mischa Barton was the best actress out of the whole show. She really made the entire show, with her attitudes and disbeliefs to the show. She was incredible. It will be sad to see her go. She was my favorite actress. And she always will be. She was a beautiful girl, and I love her to death!!!

I just finished watching season 3. Cried terribly. As a fan they (the management) already had their way out to dismiss Marissa from her role, she was going to be with her Dad. At least that left open doors for the future. This just goes to show as in real life people don’t give a crap about others feelings. They instead chose to cause pain to the fans of the O.C. at least they get that choice, life doesn’t deal us those kind of choice cards. .Way to go! They make all the money and we get screwed with pain and heartache. Wishing Misha a great new beginning. Fans will miss you on the show. Maybe the studios should think first it’s not like she wasn’t apart of or weekly lives.

Honestly. What is the point is saying things e.g (Quoting Chelsea Nunn) - “I agree with dursty BRING HER BACK OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES”
Do you really think that Fox Entertainment, and co. are really going to read this, and if they do, do you really think they will act on it?
You are much better of finding something more productive to do.

no one will ever really know why she left the show..there are so many rumors going around that are probably not even true..its just gossip to make everybody talk. i even read a interview with josh and he said her character died b/c there was nothing left to do with her b/c she pretty much done everything, and everything from season 1 led up to her death or something like that..he never said anything about her being late or bad acting, he actually said she was a great actress that always done her best. i will miss her, she was my fav. no one will replace her, not even taylor. If marissa would not have died, taylor would not even be a part of season 4…she is just there for a new storyline..too bad she is only in the spot light for only 16 episodes.

Oh man, the OC was like THE best show EVER, and now it sorta sucks that marissa is gone! I really think that somehow she should magically come back to life, like make her in acoma, and then sh can wake up or watever and then the show can be the best show ever again! Please Mischa, everyone wants you back, you were the best thing on the show, you cant give up!! What is Ryan gonna do? Summer? If you came back then I guaruntee that they would most likely bring back the OC, and then I would be the happiest person alive, dont go Mischa, come back!!

I want Marissa to come back 2 but the way I see it, Trey, Johnny, Volchok, they were all viruses in her life and she finally got killed by last virus that was volchok
