Julie and Marissa make up
After Caleb’s death, Julie is in for a “bumpy ride.” As Schwartz hints, “You can take the girl out of Riverside, but that doesn’t always mean she’s not going to land back in Riverside.” Marissa will also begin to understand her mom more. “It’s not always easy between them, but I think as they start to grow, and Marissa starts to really mature and become more of a young adult, she’ll start to understand her mother’s circumstances in a way that is actually going to be really sweet and touching.”
