“California– Mischa Barton, teen queen and star of the hit teen drama The O.C has shocked the nation, after revealing she prostituted herself when she was 13. “My childhood was rough. My parents were always working and leaving my sisters and I in the care of various people and it was so frustrating.” Barton said in a recent interview with People magazine.
“I was struggling as an actor and as a teenager at the same time. Unlike most girls my age, I wasn’t just given money.” She added. “No one wanted to know who i was, so one of my friends told me i could earn money from men for sex.”
Barton agreed to do so and recalls her first time prostituting herself as “awkward and disgusting…I scrubbed my body all over and washed my teeth ten’s of times”.
After selling herself to men for almost three months, Barton’s family became suspicious “She had all these new clothes and things…she tried hiding it but we all knew she had it [the new things]. We thought she was a thief…then she confessed”, Hania Barton, Mischa’s younger sister recalled. “I was very young at the time and didn’t fully understand, but now I do. I still don’t understand why she [Mischa] would resort to doing such an awful thing”.
By the time Mischa was 15 her life had taken a serious turn for the worst. She has confessed to drinking, smoking and having meaningless sex.”
